Insane Decay of Mind: Shovelware VR Horror game for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive

There are some great virtual reality horror games, and then there are games like this. Insane Decay of Mind on Oculus Rift. Insane Decay of Mind is a virtual reality horror game that supports the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. You play a girl trapped in the labyrinth of her own mind, and the goal is to escape, but creepy shadow people and tentacle monsters want to stop you. The levels of the game are randomly generated, and it resets each time you die. If you escape, then you restart in another randomly generated level and the difficulty goes up. Escape 3 times to beat the game and unlock all 3 difficulties, Easy, Medium, and Hard. Unfortunately, the game is not all that great. The locomotion system is headache inducing because your character moves at superhuman speed and can only be controlled with a gamepad controller. You can look around in VR but the direction you are looking does not influence your movement direction. Aside from that, the animations are janky, the enemies are uninspired and repetitive, and the randomly generated levels are just a bunch of boring hallways with no interesting visuals. However the game does offer a few jumpscares and only costs $2.50, so if you're desperate for a VR horror game, it might be worth checking out. Check out Insane Decay of Mind on Steam:.
