So anyway, a few things I wanted to say. Good lord I love Gunslinger, one of my favorite perks ever, balance or meta be damned. You'll see me using the HX-25 and wonder why the hell I'm doing so. Well, the first reason is because I have all of my perks leveled to 25 except for Demo, so I initially bought it to just level it up slowly. It is a fairly weak weapon, but at least in solo and when it's used correctly it can still do work so I kept it around. I used to run on Gunslinger a single 1911 since that weapon is glorious for taking out trash mobs and it has enough power to make quick work of Husks/Bloats/Sirens and it's very dosh efficient to boot. But I actually noticed the HX-25 being a really nice weapon when using Rack 'em Up (ReU). The ReU skill is amazing as it allows you to shit out huge amounts of damage as long as you have a lot of stacked heashots. The main problem is keeping stacked headshots when you really need them, like when a Scrake or Fleshpound comes around. What I used to do was try using the 1911 or M9 and stacking a few easy headshots before going to the Magnums to kill the big mobs. The problem was that it wasn't always guaranteed that I would be able to get the stacks, and even if I did I had to worry about my aim at least until the main threats were dealt with. With an off perk weapon though, I could stack easy headshots and then just switch to the HX-25 and kill trash mobs while keeping my insane 70% damage on the Gunslinger pistols. It took a lot of worry off my aim, especially when you have to deal with stuff like Crawlers and Stalkers which are harder to hit anyway. So while I know it wasn't a complete Gunslinger weapons only run, utilizing off perk weapons with Gunslinger seems to be quite favorable (I tried doing this many times using only pistols and I got to as far as wave 10 a few times, but never past). I should try it when playing multi-man games and see how it works. I normally run Bone Collector cuz my aim is ass but ReU is so good, especially if you play with a Demo that has On Perk and can stun Scrakes/Fleshpounds with his nades, setting up super easy headshots. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy, I know I really didn't show off the pistols all too well since I relied a lot on explosives and other stuff but it's whatever. Steam Group -.
