This is a ballad from the heart of a lonesome wanderer, I'd say; it captures the feelings many of us know only too well -- of isolation, of being far from the comforts and luxuries of a place we once loved and knew so well. In that sense, there is an air of sorrowful longing, for the things we cherished dearly, and no longer have. But there is a spirit of hopefulness and optimism to the melody as well -- the place that wanderer is so far from, isn't gone. It's still out there, waiting to welcome them back. And so that wanderer journeys forward; sometimes simply, sometimes with great hardship, with but one goal in mind: to reach that place they call 'home'. The instruments used for this track were very well chosen. Piano, acoustic guitar. each and every note and flourish is a part of the journey; they blend sublimely with the vocals, each word of which is sung with passion, with gentle but unyielding determination. 'Dreaming My Way Home' is one of the finest video game songs I've had the pleasure of hearing in my life. indeed, that would ring true even were one to remove the words 'video game' from my prior statement. was that okay. I think I could've done better. Well, I guess calling this an "extension" is a bit of a stretch, pun intended -- see, it doesn't loop like standard BGM. But the structure of this melody was such that I did find a way to 'rewind' back from before the end of the song, to an earlier point in time.
