Donald Trump Full Interview With Greta Van Susteren 5/11/16 Talks Tax - Muslim Ban - VP Pick
Donald Trump indicated on Fox News tonight a willingness he hasn’t expressed before to go back on his Muslim ban idea as soon as possible. Greta Van Susteren brought up concerns people had that the ban could “go on forever.”. Trump said, “It was never meant to be. I mean, that’s why it was temporary. Sure I’d back off on it, I’d like to back off it as soon as possible.”. He did go on to say there’s a serious problem with radical Islam that the U.S. needs to get to the bottom of, while allowing for exceptions in that ban––of which, again, Trump said, “Ultimately it’s my aim to have it lifted.”. Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren confronted Donald Trump tonight over his refusal to release his tax returns. Trump has insisted that he can’t while he’s being audited. He could if he wanted to, but Van Susteren agreed with him that it would be inadvisable. However, she pressed him on how long the audit goes back. Trump said he doesn’t know and would have to check, and Van Susteren told him that “people are suspicious” about this, especially considering how he called on Mitt Romney to release his returns four years ago. Trump insisted he would “like” to release them, “hopefully before the election,” but he also protested, “You don’t learn very much from a tax return.”. Oh, and also, releasing returns from outside the audit period would be “meaningless” because that would be going too far back. Watch above, via Fox News..
