This game reminds me a lot of the SNES era Ninja Turtles game "Turtles in Time." It has that classic beat 'em feel to it up with some great boss battles, in 3D.It also feels like 2014's "Legend oF Korra," which was also developed by PlatinumGames. There is a significant amount of cutscenes and story here. It'll feel like watching an hour long episode of one of the cartoon series. The fact that you actively switch between the turtles keeps it fresh even though the fighting is not that deep. While their moves are virtually the same, they each have unique special attacks, and you can equip different charms on each of them to enhance special abilities. For example, Mikey has a special called "Cheerleader," which significantly shortens the cool down time for the other Turtle's specials. Because of this, I equipped a charm that allowed Mikey's special to cool down 5% faster than normal. I would use all the Turtle's special, the go to Mikey, and use his "Cheerleader" special to re-up everyone else. It's small details like that that make the game fun.
